Fixed-Site Imaging FAQ
Who is DMS Health Technologies?
DMS Health Technologies is a leading provider of mobile diagnostic imaging services. DMS has a rich and diversified history which started in 1972 as Dakota Medical Systems. Today, DMS not only provides mobile imaging solutions, but also imaging equipment service and sells a wide range of healthcare products, including diagnostic imaging equipment, patient monitoring systems, supplies and accessories, and refurbished monitoring equipment, ultrasound and parts.
What if we have no space inside, or a place to put a pad outside?
DMS has the flexibility and ability to offer several solutions. If there is not room inside your facility and if the pad outside is not to specifications, the next step would be to evaluate if there is a space for a modular solution. DMS has several adaptable options available to meet your space and budget needs.
DMS can provide virtually any system to meet your specifications and requirements, whether you are looking for a new or used unit.
Do you provide staffing or will I need to use my own staff?
As part of the complete package of services DMS offers, DMS can provide staffing on your fixed-sited solution at your request. If you choose to utilize DMS’ staffing system, you can feel confident in knowing that our staff takes great pride in delivering the same level of care you would expect from your own team. DMS’ registered and certified technologists receive on-going training and development, with a high percentage maintaining registries in their chosen modality. Our team members are not only experienced in the industry, but also in the modality.
Our contract terms are set up to meet the specific requirements of each facility we serve. On average, our fixed-site imaging agreements are for 48-60 months.
What are the payment terms of the agreement?
DMS offers a flexible pricing structure customized to fit your needs and the requirements of your site. Typically for a fixed-site solution, facilities opt for a monthly rental; however the agreement can be constructed as a fee-per-scan, with the ability to change the terms to daily or monthly at a later date.
Will you cover construction costs? Is that included in my fee?
Facility readiness (for a modular or an in-house system) is the responsibility of the customer. DMS will work with you to determine construction costs and can build those expenses into your agreement fees.
What else is included in my fees? Service? Applications support? Marketing? Other?
All agreements vary, depending on each facility’s goals and needs. Typically, the technology, support and service are included in the agreement, along with up to 32 hours of applications support on-site. DMS also offers a variety of levels of business development and marketing service options to help support your business objectives.
Do we own the asset at the end of the term?
If you desire to take ownership of the asset at the end of the term, DMS can work with you to construct the proposal as such so that a fair market value buyout is available at the end of the agreement. Otherwise, DMS will retrieve the asset.
What if we want to upgrade this asset during the term because technology has changed?
Upgrades to the asset can be built into your facility’s proposal.
What if we want to buy this asset out at any point in time during the agreement?
DMS would be more than happy to facilitate any discussions in regards to buying out the asset prior to the agreement term.
At the end of your agreement term, DMS will work with you to explore options to upgrade the system or possibly replace the system, depending on what your future needs are.
Will we get ongoing software upgrades as they come out?
DMS will continue to upgrade the software, for those upgrades that are standard based on the current software package. DMS will not, however, provide upgrades for different functionality that was not part of the original system specifications.
Yes. DMS has an average uptime guarantee of 95-98% for a fixed-site system.
What is the escalation path if the system is down?
DMS prides itself on our commitment to giving our customers direct, real-time access to our team of service professionals, who are committed to keeping your system fully operational. In the instance your system goes down, you will need to call our 24-hour Customer Call Center, and the process will begin immediately to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair your system. You will speak to a DMS team member live, who will connect you directly to your primary service engineer and begin working with the issue. The service engineer will work with your staff to try and resolve the issue while on the phone, and get you up and running as quickly as possible.
In the event that an engineer needs to be deployed to repair the system, DMS will evaluate the accessibility to the site and system specifications. DMS will first assess the feasibility of sending our own service engineer to the site; however, due to location or system configuration, DMS may contract with the appropriate OEM to repair the system. Our focus is on doing what is best to maximize uptime, keep the system operational and maintain patient care.
